Last Sunday we had a little chat about making mistakes. We asked you whether your perspective on making mistakes was a positive or a negative one; whether it is hard or easy for you to take a step back and look at a mistake in a positive way; and how your company culture deals with mistakes: encouragement or punishment?
Results show: While 72% of participants have a positive perspective on making mistakes, 28% have a negative outlook. When asked whether it is hard to take a step back and reframe, only 46% state that they find it easy to look at the positive effects of failing, as opposed to the majority of 54% feeling that it is rather hard. This might have something to do with the fact that the majority answered that their company culture’s way of dealing with mistake is punishment (59%), instead of encouragement (41%).
