Ariane Hingst is one of the world's most distinguished soccer players. However, despite an international career spanning 15 years, four European Championship wins, two World Championships, three Olympic medals, and the World Cup, she still had to work another full-time job on top of her athletic career. The reason? Pay within women's soccer leagues is still too low. For this reason, in 2022, the world champion co-founded FC Viktoria Berlin, with the aim of transforming the sport and fighting for equal pay.
