What do you feel is the current situation of women in your country when it comes to female empowerment?

As a female living in Australia, I feel extremely empowered to create impactful change. What I observe is that one of the biggest barriers to females feeling empowered is themselves, a lack of self belief and valuing one’s skills far too often holds amazing women back from realising their potential. So many women are capable of so much more than they realise and we need to support them in being more confident and backing each other to create real change.

How do you think ordinary women could become change-makers in the society?

By stepping into fear. Trusting that growth and change occurs when we get comfortable in discomfort. Not waiting for the perfect plan which doesn’t exist and just taking action and believing that the action will breed the clarity. We need more women stepping up to create change through experimentation and letting go of this need for perfection or to be liked. It’s the difficult ambitious women who will change the world. The ones who challenge the status quo and who aren’t afraid to ruffle feathers in the process.

What’s your personal idea when it comes to female empowerment?

Female empowerment to me consists of:

1. The ability to believe in yourself and your ability to shape the world in a way that is meaningful to you.

2. Cultivating environments where women are supported to create disruption and own their own voice.
