Dr. Julia Freudenberg

1. What is the best advice ever received?

If a task is not so big that you are not at least a little afraid of it, you don’t even have to start – it’s not worth it. Go big or go home. It takes courage to think big and make your vision come true.

2. What gets you out of bed every morning?

The enthusiasm and the knowledge to do the right thing. It is an incredible pleasure to inspire young people for their own (digital) future with the knowledge and skills of IT specialists and companies.

3. What are your next milestones?

In five years at the latest, we want to be able to reach over 100,000 kids per year nationwide. Together with the GIRLS Hacker School (“bring your daughter”) and women’s networks, we want to focus on women’s and girls’ enthusiasm for IT and are looking for specific cooperation.

4. What is your best analog moment?

They are the glowing eyes of young people every time they understand, after a Hacker School session, how the fundamentals of the digital world work and understand that they are able to shape their own future with digital means. Analog-enthusiasm is always the key to learning that is intrinsically motivated and sustainable.
