1. What is the best advice ever received?
Always clarify goals and expectations and take the time to define them in a smart way. Most likely anyone working on a start-up will agree that it is easy to have ideas, but it is much harder to successfully execute them. Therefore, it is really helpful to write down on paper what you are working towards, why you chose that goal and how will you get there.
2. What gets you out of bed every morning?
I am working on something I am truly passionate about and has a real impact (empowering and equipping girls with tech skills) together with some of the smartest and most interesting people I know – what else would one need to motivate me? Also, my urge to jump onto the yoga mat and start with my wake-up practice! Taking the first half an hour of the day for something that has nothing to do with my business helps me clear my head and gets me ready to focus on my work.
3. What are your next milestones?
After a successful pre-order campaign on Kickstarter this summer we are now manufacturing our first product, the imagiCharm and launching it to the market in the first half of 2020. In January we will be launching our mobile application and in March we will be shipping the first units to our customers. During the next year with our product in the market we will have the opportunity to test the effectiveness of our approach to make programming fun, creative and relevant for teenage girls.
4. What is your best analog moment?
Just like many millennials – while believing that digital is the future I also have my favourite analog solutions just like my polaroid camera that I will certainly have with me at the awards night as well!
